Cathryn Shiels is an experienced Lawyer. She has worked in the area of family law, family violence, criminal law and court advocacy for many years, representing hundreds of clients.  

She regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Magistrates Court. 

Cathryn was born and educated in the beautiful Goulburn Valley having attended St Brendan's primary school and Sacred Heart College. 

She grew up surrounded by sport and played competitive netball to A grade level for many years.  In her spare time you will find her competing in 10km and 5km running events across Victoria and interstate. She hopes to compete in her first half marathon in 2026. 

Growing up in the progressive Goulburn Valley she enjoyed the genuine warmth,  multiculturalism and authenticity of the community and her connections and love of the region remain strong to this day.
